GRAND MINI, MINIATURE HORSE BOX
The fabrication of the Miniature Horsebox was done on an existing mould of a luggage trailer(The Stage Coach). By default the stage coach is a 3cu.metre capacity trailer.
For the development of the Grand Mini the height of the tansporter was increased with 300mm, the inside equipment: center divider, breast bars and tailgates was downsized form the standard sized horse equipment to ensure that the miniature horse would have a safe and comfortable ride when being transported.
All the steel work used for the transporter is hot dipped galvanised to ensure a rust free lifetime of the steel parts whereas the construction of the body/shell is a rotational moulded linear low density U.V stabilised polyethylene polymer. In short this is a light and durable U.V stabilised plastic that is free from any stress on the various arches due to the rotational moulding process.
Safety features on the transporter is coupled with the design and materials as the body/shell will not crumple under any given impact, it will much rather contract to the limit of the elasticity and tear open. The impact is absorbed through the supporting steelwork and after the initial tearing of the body it will regain it’s original form (obviously torn open),but leaving the transported horse in an open enough space to be freed if needed. Depending on the magnitude of the tearing in the transporter, it can be reworked / welded up by means of plastic welding to regain the strength and workability of the body. Any damaged steelwork can then be either replaced or repaired.
Additional features include a gas shock loaded ramp, Ventilation openings , Side kickboards and a lockable front door (Human door).
